Artistry
To be fair, that’s a rather loose term for what I’ve done in the past. I’m not a great artist, at least by my admittedly lofty standards. I don’t draw very often, and I have a lot of trouble without a reference. I don’t trace, but in a sense, I do copy a bit. Some of these drawings are reference copies with modifications. I regret to say that I don’t always remember where the source was, but I think that most of them are generic enough to not get me sued. And yes, I know there are semi-noticeable blotches on some of them. I was trying to fix up pencil lines, smudges, stains, paper age, and the like in Paint, and some turned out better than others. I still think it came out reasonably well.
My werewolf TF: I’m really more of a were-panther, to be exact. Here, I’m finding out how the other half lives. Referenced from my face in a mirror; hopefully, my reflection won’t sue. Also done several years back, when I had a “normal” goatee and longer hair.
Elven Lady TF: Referenced from an old AD&D comic book, inspired by the numerous elf transformations in Gael Baudino’s Sunlight/Starlight series. This young lass has just completed the transformation, brought about by the ancient amulet adorning her neck.
Cryonica: One of my favorite Shadowrun characters. She discovered her magic ability after an assassination attempt in snowy upper Canada. Cryonica is an Elemental Adept; her magic is Ice-based. Her body temperature is just below the freezing mark, giving her pale skin, white hair, and pale blue eyes. She is very sullen and withdrawn; “cold-hearted,” for lack of a better term.
Rapture: Cryonica’s transformed form. She found out her father masterminded her assassination, as he feared she would become like her satyress mother. Once she changed into her true Satyr form, she discovered shamanic magic, accepting Pan as her Patron “totem,” and renamed herself Rapture. Her outlook is much brighter and more hopeful, and when not on the job, she makes up for years of fun lost when she was Cryonica. She still has some of her ice powers, but now possesses emotion-influencing spells as well.
Chun-Fe-line Standing and Leaping: Two older goof-around drawings, back when I was just starting to discover TF and my interest in it. Referenced from a Street Fighter II strategy guide. Yes, I know the muzzles are strange. It’s probably not the only off thing in the drawings, but screw it, I’m still proud of ‘em. The leaping drawing is an old favorite of mine.
Cammy the Were-tigress Lounging and Standing: Again, two older drawings. Standing was referenced from the same strategy guide as the Chun-Li drawings; Lounging was done freehand. Well, she wears those weird leg stripes, and her profile said she liked cats, so...
Catwoman Panther Leaping: Referenced from a splash page from a Catwoman unlimited series comic. I find it sorta so-so, but I’ll let you be the judge.
She-wolf Sequence: I honestly didn’t remember having this, until I blundered across it while searching for other pieces. All told, I don’t think it’s all that bad.
Vendetta: An old character from a Vampire: The Masquerade game (Brujah, obviously). His shirt, by the way, says “Churn” and “Finally Nowhere”; Churn is a fictional heavy metal band I’ve used in several different games and writings, and Finally Nowhere was the name of their first album.
Keith’s Video Arcade: From a high school art project. The assignment was to incorporate our initials into a drawing.
Bill the Cat: Non-TF, unless hairball-hocking counts. Drawn from a T-shirt reference. Take a guess what my all-time favorite comic strip is?
Whatcha Gonna Do, Brutha?: A reference-based drawing (from a wrestling magazine and a photo of myself) staring down Hulk Hogan. Liked him out of obligation, long ago. If I could do this and more in real life, just tell me where to sign.
Gift and Commissioned Artwork (By Others)
Art by Arania: (Website) (deviantART page)
She's got a wonderful head full of unique ideas, and does some of the best sequences I've ever seen.
Chun-Li(canthropy): She's wolfed out again, and there goes another Street Fighting outfit. In B/W and in color. (This'll become an action figure soon. No, really! Stay tuned...)
Chun-Li Werewolf Sequence: Not a commission, this was the sequence she drew before hearing about Dark Streets. Posted with permission.
The Legend of (werewolf) Zelda: Because Link shouldn't have all the fun.
Art by Kevin Melton:
Kevin does some good pencil sketches in addition to his killer figures.
Clown - I'll say this right now: I hate clowns. They scare the crap out of me. It's the makeup, and the happiness, and the goofy crap they do, and it's just everything about 'em. Kevin's drawing, good as it is, doesn't do much to change my feelings. Sorry, dude.
Art by MWE:
MWE is, in my opinion, one of the best artists and writers in the TF community today, and a kind and generous human being to boot.
Lita the Leopard Lady: A black and white and photoworked version of the WWE's Extreme Diva. Given to me in trade from a while back.
Chun Li vs Felicia: Truth be told, neither MWE nor myself can remember if this was or wasn't drawn for me. He said I could post it anyway, so here you go.
Art by Slayde Vasiere: NEW
I was introduced to Slayde Vasiere through the commissioner of The Ebonwood Treatise. She's a spectacluarly talented artist, a fun person to chat with, and she can bash me blind at word games. The final point notwithstanding, I still like her a lot. (Update: I've finally managed to beat her about 50% of the time. Go me.)
Kailundra Wishes Me a Happy 31st (ADULT): Kailundra is from an online story RPG myself, Slayde, and a mutual friend engage in. She's not normally a satyress, but Slayde decided to let her (and by proxy, myself) go nuts for a while. An unsolicited birthday present from a wonderful lady.
Lycanthrokeith's Unique Elven Transformation: I happen to be a collector of weapons. When I purchased a sword of elven craftsmanship over the Internet, I missed the part about only elves being able to wield it. Specifically, female elves.
This was a fabulous piece of work, and an opportunity to indulge myself.
The Transformation of Sister Violet: Sent to me after the completion of The Ebonwood Treatise, originally drawn for the commissioner to go along with the story and posted here with permission.
NEW Vigil: Slayde's exquisite take on one of my favorite characters ever.
Art By Ysarric:
Ysarric is a good friend of mine at our mutual place of employment. The following images were done exclusively for this site.
Vigil: Three drawings, showing the progression of the entrance pic of my favorite winged Shadowrun vampiress.
Here's the original black and white pic, touched up a bit by me.
This is the second pic, in colored pencil. Notice the addition of her pointed ear.
And finally, the final pic, complete with a murder of ravens she can summon at will.
E-Mail me and tell me these aren’t as bad as I think (or worse than I think).
